I recently read Feeding Lamb and it was hardcore and graphic. This ain't your mom's yaoi. Feeding Lamb includes murder, dismemberment, disembowelment, torture, castration, animal abuse, drug abuse, as well as graphic sex.

I guess it depends on your tastes. I found the writing and art phenomenal even though the theme wasn't exactly what I was expecting of a yaoi. The homosexuality and sex was kind of secondary to the violence and gore. However, from a purely academic standpoint, the topic was researched and covered better than I expected. I wasn't sure how I felt about the cliched "horror" ending though. The bulk of the story was very gritty and felt very realistic. So, the "Friday the 13th" style ending kind of ruined it for me. I tend to look at all stories from both a reader's perspective and as a critic or reviewer. If a story "moves" me to feel any kind of emotion, happiness, anger, sadness or even revulsion of the scenes or characters, the mangaka has done a good job of telling the story. Only when I finish a story and feel apathetic about it, can I say the manga was bad.
