So I've been thinking, Is the R-slur on the same level as the N-word. Of course I don't think the R-slur is nearly on the same level as the N-word because of the history behind both words. but is it the same concept? The R-slur is a derogatory term used to discriminate against a specific type of group, but isn't that the same definition for the N-word. It might seem insensitive to the black community but I don't mean any harm. But I feel like the R-slur is more normalized which is not a good thing obviously, but doesn't that make it less of a bad word. If you know more or have an opinion on this please tell me I would love to hear it and become more aware on this topic.
Also I'm really sorry for posting this here I just didn't know where else to post this.
Err.. I used to say the R-slur alot when someone offended me or made me angry. Do I do it now? Hell to the fricking no! Man those were dark days..
Anyway, my opinion is we should say neither even if we're upset or even joking. But hey, I can't stop the world reply
there are more minorities that have been/are being oppressed than just black people (such as women, neurodivergent people, differently-abled people, other poc, people of certain religions, and lgbtq+ people)
the r-slur was/is used against neurodivergent people as a way to make them feel lesser/maintain hierarchal superiority. as such, neurodiverge...... reply
