Prune juice always helps me. Also, fiber. I think they make fiber tablets, so you don't actually have to eat food that's full of fiber. You SHOULD get more fiber, but...yeah.
I said fiber a lot, so maybe throw in dairy, if you're lactose intolerant.

I’m kind of an expert on constpation bc I’ve suffered from chronic constpation for years now along with my chronic fatigue. I’ll impart what’s taken me years to learn. First what others have said is great advice. Two, the long term solution is to look at your diet and possibly consult a specialist, if it continues. An elimination diet is a hard but excellent way to figure out what foods cause you problems and which don’t. It’s hard a f though but if your constipation continues it’s a good place to start. Just incorporating as many vvegtables, esp green leafy ones, is another easier step to start with. Now for the immediate problem, the constipation your dealing with now so you can feel better. Cheap easy remedy that isn’t bad for you like most laxitives-magnesium. Most of us don’t get enough anyways so a magnesium supplement can be a real life saver. There’s a ton of different magnesiums (magnesium has to be chelated with another molecule bc it’s untstable by itself) but I’d go with the cheapest -magnesium oxide. It’s great for constipation bc it is a big molecule and you don’t absorb much magnesium so you can take as much as you need without taking to much. Magnesium citrate mixed with magnesium oxide is great as well bc you’ll actually get some magnesium absorbed. But figuring out how much you need without softening things up to much is tough. I suggest taking double the suggested dose every night for a few days to see how it works. It takes 2-3 days for it to kick in. Then adjust as needed, if your poops still not coming or to hard add another mag. If it’s to soft decrease. I’d also suggest Smooth Move tea by Traditional Medicinals (a nurse recommended this tea) to give you immediate relief. Or Yogi brand has a tea that does a similar job. Another pricier but amazing option you can take with the magnesium is Triphala. It’s a Ayurvedic home remedy. It’s actuallu got tons of benefits for you. It’s a staple of the Indian home as well and very safe. Look for organic tripahala. The capsules are most effective but the tablets work as well. My regimen after changing my diet (which helped but didn’t fix the problem bc I haven’t found the root cause of my CFS) is to take 2-3 magnesium a day (a blend of oxide, citrate and aspertate-it’s the triple magnesium complex from Swanson’s, I get a huge bottle cheap) with 1-2 triphala from Planatary Herbals and that keeps me pretty regular. If I have a flare up I drink a tea like smooth move that has natural senna, slippery elm and other herbs that increase your ability to have intestinal contractions and provides lubrication. But I will stress if this is ongoing figure out what’s wrong. It can be anything from The more serious like- IBS (I have IBS constipation) to Crohn’s disease to celiac disease or the less severe like allergies or food intolerances. I found I can’t eat wheat and some other grains. When I eliminated these from my diet my CFS and constipation improved. I’m still trying to find out what’s causing all these problems for me (apparently CFS baffles a lot of doctors) but most constipation is not as hard to figure out. I’ll reiterate if this continues then do two things: If you can go to the dr and also do research on natural remedies for constipation and on elimination diets. If you have the ability to afford it go to a dietician. I actually found the most help from a holistic dr and a dr who specialized in whole body health with a focus on healing the whole body instead of just symptoms. These drs aren’t always covered by insurance-if you’re in America that’s important bc we are shit on health care. But most likely you’re just having problems with the food your eating bc that’s the most common cause. Also if you can afford it eat organic fruits and veggies. Stay away from sugar and simple carbs and stick to whole grains. Anyways I wrote a book but I wanted to give the info I wish someone had given me when this first started. Good luck!! (Also there’s some great resources online-just make sure your search says- Safe, natural constpation remedies.)
