romanticizing rape and abuse

i've noticed that most people on here hate romanticizing rape but are fine with rape rp which is also romanticizing rape?? Rape should never be conflated with consensual sex in any way imo.

if someone told you that their significant other chokes or beats them then you would think that they're being abused right? and if they were to say how they enjoy it you would think that they're sympathizing with their abuser right? but i guess adding sex to it makes it kinky?? w/o the sex isn't it just domestic abuse?? how does sex make it any better??

if it's a role play its CONSENSUAL. if it's not a role play THERE IS NO CONSENT. is it really difficult to understand? it's not domestic abuse if the other asking to get hit, because they like to get hit (maybe they dont even have abusive experience but its just the way it is) there's also safe word and all. dont just see dom/sub interaction from ...... 1 reply

Rape role play is different because it’s CONSENSUAL. It’s like role playing sleeping with your teacher & actually sleeping with your teacher. One is role playing, one is a legitimate abuse of power. A lot of people role play rape because they have been conditioned by abuse to find it attractive and want to do it safely and consensually. reply

I mean, rape rp *is* consensual, but I can see where you're going with it still romanticizing and normalizing rape, with which I'm inclined to agree, simply because something being "consensual" doesn't make it okay. I'm pretty sure it's fine as long as there's consent. If someone likes to be beat then that's fine, just let them do them and you do you. It's not sympathy, it's a kink. It's only rape if there isn't permission. You should study about things you're ignorant about before stating your opinion, it can come off as very offensive. reply

Ok first it's not your position to say what other people should or shouldn't do consentually with their partner. If you're not into it that's fine that's you. Second, psychologically (I learned this is class the other day) many women will "fantasize" about rape or have a rape "kink" as a coping mechanism. Everything with consent between to (or more) adults is okay in my book. It's not any of my or your business what other people chose to do privately in or out of bed.
