What even is Thanksgiving
For me thanksgiving is my grandmother furiously quoting Romans 1:26 at me and yelling “hOmOsExUaLiTy Is aN AbOMiNaTion” (it isn’t omg) and asking “are you sure you’re gay” about a thousand times, me quietly sipping my lemonade and trying my best to ignore her, my grandpa interrupting her to say our family friend is begging his wife to kill him because of his Covid, my grandmother yelling defensively that it “doesn’t matter because THE END TIMES ARE COMING”, my mom calling me up to yell about how I need to go to college like her until I finally cave in and go “FINE ILL GO to f-cking college”, and then my grandmother looking over at me every time my grandpa says the word “sinner”.
I’m fully convinced thanksgiving was created by a white man who wanted to both spite the native Americans he stole his land from and torture every queer kid with the reminder of how much their family hates/resents them while they eat the worst food known to man.
We don't celebrate Thanksgiving in my country so I don't really know how it is, but it sounds stressful. I hope you're okay after going through it
