I am often in the same situation, and I think you should just ask them about the things they like. Even if it's not manga, maybe you'll be able to bond over other things too. As long as they don't judge you for liking manga that's okay ! And if you want to talk about manga/anime there's always the internet. Though I know it's not the same unfortuna......   reply

I understand you so much! If your current friends aren't into it, maybe you could find online friends that love the same stories? You could probably find a website, or a chat, about your favorites anime and manga? Make some online friends, definitely gonna second that suggestion. There are several forums you can join, you can message people on here, there are tons of ways to make friends with the same interests online. I have two online friends and if I get excited about yaoi I can just rave about it in our skype group, and they can always just ignore my ram......   reply

I feel you, whenever I'm on this situation, since I have like 8 or 9 friends and one best friend when they don't want to talk about any manga or anime I just go on my phone and start reading or I either start texting my best friend about some stuff which the others does not know even though she's talking to them she always text back so I'm grateful......   reply

My friends are quite accepting and sometimes they refer to me for good anime and manga. I'm their source. But I was really mad when some people on the internet said that anime is porn. I mean, what the hell! They don't even watch anime and they assumed with prejudice.   3 reply

Maybe branch out a little bit and try to find friends who are interested?
