O.M.G. I've been doing this for forty years at least. I don't whisper, talk, etc, but I can spend hours in bed after waking up on weekends, just daydreaming. Or a couple of hours before sleep, going through my daydream "novels." Too many to remember. When I was younger they often revolved around me. Now that I'm older I guess I feel I don't d......   1 reply

i'm so glad someone posted this because i would have never known it was an actual thing if it wasn't for this post. "they will whisper, talk, make facial expressions, or do some sort of repetitive movements, such as pacing," i literally do this all the time, and i used to think it was just me being a really good and involved actor while thinking lo......   1 reply

Huh, never realized there was a name for it. Yeah, I do it a lot, usually whenever I hear music. I tend to daydream, structuring them around the song I'm listening to like a really elaborate music video. Usually I daydream about fantasy settings, like "This person has power X, but the price is Y, this is the story of why they finally decided to ta......   reply

Yep. That sounds a bit like me. I've been daydreaming ever since I was little. I usually like to sit on my bed or pace next to or around a table or something thinking about the characters and what will happen to them.(I'm actually considering writing a novel on taptastic). Sometimes, I have a hard time falling asleep because of my active mind, but......   3 reply

So I'm a maladaptive daydreamer. I didn't know till now that there was a term for what my fantasies all these years. Though the triggers from daydreams are mostly from animes, mangas, or books I have read/watched then imagining myself as a new character with awesome powers and a tragic background.   reply

I am! A little too much tho. I forget A LOT of reality because of that. I have more eh...practice? now so I can kind of force myself to do something else but I still end up doing a lot of important stuff really late just because of that. I actually hate it. I created so many different stories, sceneries and characters that I even have a lot of no......   reply

Not sure o.o but I have a tendency to fantasize different situations and day dream all the time, or even worse constantly start randomly describing things when I'm outside x3 though that's more of a consequence of being a writer (or an aspiring one at least ⁄(⁄ ⁄·⁄ω⁄·⁄ ⁄)⁄ )   reply

I can't fall asleep unless I add up to my current fantasy XD I had asked myself if other people do the same thing, but would have never imagined it was such a huge thing! I have been like this since I was a kid. I think of myself as a weird hyper active person. While hyper active kids can't concentrate cuz they want to be playing and stuff... my mi......   reply
