personally i think here u are is quite realistic especially in that one scene where yu yang goes back to beijing to meet with his extended family and they keep commenting on his sexuality. i personally don't have these experiences in terms of coming out or sexuality but as a chinese person this kind of thing is so common. relatives are just all up ......
