Even though I'm also a bi female, I'll try to answer. And I really think I could write a whole essay on this. Firstly, I feel like the mechanics of yaoi sex can be quite off. I think half of it is exaggerated, like especially when they're having sex and the uke starts crying outta no where lmao. I don't think "crying because it's so good" is a thing. But I do think that most of the things done as in foreplay and positions are plausible for real life.   1 reply

Like any kind of sex, it's going to vary WILDLY from couple to couple. The only truly unrealistic thing in yaoi is the lack of proper lube and protection being used. And yes, crying during sex because it's that intense emotionally, is so a real thing. Does it happen as often in real life as it does in yaoi? Highly doubtful.   1 reply

i mean, looking past obvious cliches and contrived plots just comes with the territory when you're reading yaoi, but as soon as i see someone shove it in without lube/with minimal prep and their partner just...go with it? that shatters all sense of realism.
