I have the same problem and i don't understand why either, I'm perfectly fine with it in real life but for some reason reading about them or reading mangas about hetero ships just gives me an uncomfortable/disgusted reaction depending on how deep the relationship is. For example I can see a hetero couple in real life and have no reaction to it, but......   3 reply

Sometimes yes, but mostly the reason is that the main character or both parties act fucking ridiculously. By that I mean a crazy amount of unnecessary drama (I saw you smiling/waving/walking/talking with someone else, everything is going too well so he/she doesn't actually like me, too much shoujo and nothing actually happening, a weak lil' shit th......   2 reply

So do I ! It annoys me ( & I'm straight ) so I don't get it . I almost hate it even , can't read . There's only 3 exceptions where I do like it but that's it . I wouldn't call it disgust , but it is a similar feeling though ( ̄へ ̄)   2 reply

I can relate so much! I've been reading Yaoi for a good 3 years, literally EVERY night before bed. It's become a habit now. Ever since I started reading it, Shoujo seems so..... weird and foreign for me. It bores me and annoys me for some reason.. It's just bland. And I cringe at even seeing some Shoujo manga covers on the front page D: Yaoi is so ......   1 reply

yeah and its weird. im gay and tbh straight couples make me uncomfortable and i dont like seeing it in person and i absolutely cant stand reading shoujo even if the plot seems really interesting... but im perfectly fine when it comes to watching dramas and movies which is odd. i guess its just not in my comfort zone... shoujo mangas honestly arent ......   1 reply

I'm a more recent yaoi/shounen ai convert but i don't hate shoujo. Shoujo was my first addiction lol. I will read it sometimes if it's one I'm hooked on (like Skip Beat) or if there's an interesting, moving plot that feels pretty fresh. But I do notice that most shoujo relationships move at a snail's pace compared to yaoi. There are things that ......   reply

I have the same problem as well. ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭ I'm perfectly fine with heterosexual relationships in real life or movies or TV series, etc. but when it comes to reading manga I just can't stand them. I've tried reading shoujo manga (I hoped I would overcome this feeling) but it just got worse. I got bored very easily, moreover the female charac......   1 reply

Same for me. I've fallen so deep into yaoi i can't stand reading/watching pure romance girlxboy relationships. I sometimes even doubt my own sexuality but I'm still sure that I'm 100% straight ( ̄∇ ̄")   3 reply
