My Entire Life Has Been Full of the Paranormal...Thus Far
To start off with, let's introduce myself. I am a 23 year old woman and these experiences even go on in the present day. I even had an experience tonight before writing this. **This is an extremely long post, so if you do not have the time or will to read this, that is absolutely fine. As a library student, I live off detail, so I go into every little detail as my memory is really quite good. Fair warning....
Ever since I was a young girl, I have been sensitive to odd experiences which my parents have called "a little make believe", "a wild imagination". The only two people who had believed me was my Grandpa (mother's father) and my Grandma (father's mother). Though, hindsight 20/20, I wish that I could ask them more about that stuff now - both have since departed, Rest In Peace.
The first incident was when I was 7 years old. As an only child, I was very attached to my parents, especially my mother. When my father worked nights and we were home alone, I would go into her bedroom and sleep with her. I was terrified of the dark and didn't want to be alone. Facing my parents' en suite, I see a faint glowing silvery white orb in their bathroom. The mirror wasn't casting a reflection as it was higher than this orb and there are no windows in the bathroom. The orb was floating in the bathroom for a moment before slowly moving out and towards me into the bedroom. I remember this clear as day, me being frozen in fear until I finally was able to get myself to move and bring the covers over my head and cover my ears. There was no sound but I just took all precautions a little kid would take. After a while, I looked again and it was gone.
Ever since then, I have not seen an orb around the house, but activity did escalate until my pre-teen years. When we had gotten my first dog, Molly, we knew that something was going on. We would all be sitting in the family room watching television together when Molly, who was otherwise laying down or chewing a toy would stop and look at a certain corner or entryway and start barking her head off. No noise from inside the house or out, just getting up and barking until we pick her up and walk away.
As Molly had gotten older and began failing from cancer, she didn't bark at empty corners or go to the garage entrance and bark and scratch at the door anymore. Even with the new puppy in the house, there is no activity in which animals are affected. I did a few times begin yelling out loud addressing, "If there is anyone here that is bothering my dog, would you really bully an elderly human? At 13 years old, do you think a poor old sick dog wants to do this?!" After that, Molly had never been bothered. In her younger years, she would jump up while sleeping and look at her back as if she was touched.
Now, however, is another can of worms. My parents had never believed in me seeing shadow figures around the house, or hearing footsteps if I stay home alone at night in the kitchen or back hallway. I always need to have the t.v. on as background noise at night to distract myself from the sounds of the house and other noises outside. I am less of a scary-cat now, but being alone in a house with a little 10 pound fluff-ball dog at night is not going to do much for you in the long run. Just saying...
When Super Storm Sandy hit Long Island in 2012, without power for over two weeks, my parents and I had to go without background noise, lights, and heat. So the white noise of the house was gone.....except for the shadow figures and residual sounds. Which after all these years, they (well one anyway) finally acknowledged. My dad, being the first to say he had seen a few things and couldn't find an intruder in the house, or hearing footsteps in the attic when no one is there.
My mom, ever the skeptic, did not believe until only last year in 2015. When it was a weird night of things just going wrong around the house, I was convinced that activity was acting up and my mom was sure that, "You're watching too much Ghost Hunters and Haunted Collector again." Which, being that we own a crap ton of family heirlooms in the house, I think most of the shadow figures and sounds are related too....anyway....
In the kitchen, we have a wall-mounted telephone with a speaker button. If you press it, you get the dial tone on speaker (duh). We finished watching a movie and were heading into bed. We had just gone into our rooms when we both hear loud footsteps walking up the kitchen and the sound of the speaker button being pressed. The dial tone sound filled the entire house as the volume button was being pressed to make it louder and louder. I was freaked out, so I cuddled until my blankets with my puppy who was growling. My mom, sprung out of bed and ran into the kitchen. She screamed and turned off the speaker phone. I yelled to her, asking if she was okay, still scared to leave my room. She sprints into my room and closes my bedroom door.
"I saw something....not someone....something. It was all black and long and lanky...what in the world was that?!" She whispers to me as she sits on my bed next to me huddled under the covers with my puppy.
"You finally saw the shadow figure dad and I have seen...you're officially part of the club." Then she playfully...but half seriously smacked the back of my head.
From that point on, we have not seen the shadow figure or heard the residual steps anywhere in the house and we have not spoken about it while at home in case that kick-starts anything. Especially with the new puppy around, we don't want her to be a target for anything. The only problem we have are what I think are doppelgangers. I hear the voice of my mom coming from another part of the house calling my name while my mom is either in the same room or in the room next to me. She tells me not to go to the voice and I don't, and same with her for me. Dad has yet to experience this. Whenever someone calls another, we just yell "What?!" to see if they answer with an explanation of why you're needed. If there is no answer, it's the doppelganger....
All of this is only the experiences we have had AT HOME. There are many other stories of things happening away from home....

Hi I wanted to know what to do on a situation that my friend his experiencing. My friend is hearing a strange Musica that is louder and louder whenever it starts playing, and it's 2 am and there isn't anyone awake in her house do you guys know anything similar to this?
wow thats scary this happend last year but i've woken up in the middle of the night because i felt hundreds of eyes staring at my body and i looked out the window and there was no one plus my granddad has a light on his garage that he leaves on and my window faces the garage so that freaked me out and no matter where i moved i could feel something staring at me it was frustrating and nerve wrecking. After a while i started crying because of how uncomfortable and scared i was and i was in my room all alone ,my grandma came rushing into the room to comfort me but didnt understand how i felt no matter how many times i told her she would say "its just your imagination " or "your watching to much anime" tho i had no idea what that had to do with how i felt and that feeling went on for a whole week finally when i came back home to talk to my parents about how i felt they gave me the same response that my grandma did and every time i recall how i felt i want to cry;; and sometimes i'll be walking around the house and see black figures some look like children and some look distorted i recall one that looked like a child who was trying to grab the toaster and my siblings were outside (im the only person who likes to stay inside during summer) and lately i havent seen those figures in awhile though sometimes even though im alone i feel people staring at me but its not a strong feeling so i usually use this site as a distraction. tho i do believe in paranormal things including doppelgangers so be careful
That sometimes happen to me(⊙…⊙ )
havent experienced any of this --would cry my ass out if that ever happened to me-- but I've heard that those doppelgangers things can be quite dangerous (??????????)
I've experienced all these creeps before as well. My mom told me that I can try controlling my mind to make it all stop. After 13 years of existence and experience such paranormal activities for 8 years or so, I made myself believe that they never existed and I forced my mind to make it all stop coz I cant stand it anymore. 7 years passed then and all of those creepy things Ive been through almost seems like nothing but a dream now. Tho I know they were real.
If possible, protect yourself and cleanse your home. Buy sage, burn incense, and ask someone who does energy work to help you. If the presence is manifesting andusing your relative’s voice etc, I can assure you that it has NO good intent. If you need advice, tell me? I know a bit about this and I can rec you some people who might help.
Praying and worshiping could also help
Yes WAP worship and prayers
When my sister was like 2-3 months I was 10 years old. Now I'm 15 so it hasn't been that long.
I remember that every night at 10h or 11h PM, she would start to cry non stop for like 2 hours straight. Maybe it went for like a week. My parents told my grandma about it. My grandma's someone who's very superstitious and gave us some kind of branch (I don't know what kind of tree it was) and told us that it will "bad spirits" in other words ghosts away.
I'm someone who isn't superstitious (though I'm scared of horror movie) and didn't believe that some it will help. I was more like "are you serious?..." My parents aren't superstitious too, but well we were like It's not like we'll lose something by trying.
So we did as my grandma told us and start to move it randomly in the bedroom. Strangely, my sister stopped to cry And we continued it for like sometimes and stop. Later, we just let the branch in the bedroom and stop starting to do some rituals. Now, we still have it somewhere in the house
When I was 11 years old, we moved into a haunted house, (not knowing it at the time). My brother was 8 and my sister was 2. My dad worked 2nd shift (3:00pm - 11:00pm), so most nights it was only my mom and us 3 kids home until late night.
Not long after we moved in, we kept hearing noises but it was written off as the house settling and such. My bedroom was downstairs and connected to the basement/garage where there was my piano, a ping-pong table and regular garage stuff. I could hear footsteps going up and down the stairs all the time.
One night my mom and I while watching a movie glimpsed, a misty figure in our peripheral vision standing in the doorway to the hall. We both looked at the same time, then looked at then each other and asked, "Did you see that ?" (goosebumps just remembering !)
Some mornings we would get up and kitchen cabinets would be open and things like canned food would be out on the counter tops or in the floor. You could sit in the den upstairs and hear the piano keys tinkling or the ping-pong ball bouncing back and forth. I'm the only person in the family that plays a piano ....
We would often hear the front door open and close, and wait to see who came in ... only to go look to see no one there. And the footsteps ... always the footsteps. There's more, but I don't want this post to be too terribly long ! We lived there for 4 years, and I've always wondered if the new owners experienced the same things we did !
I'm glad your experiences have quieted down somewhat !
Yeah seeing and experiencing paranormal experiences at a young age is rough. I'm glad you don't live there anymore. Have you experienced anything recently?
After we moved from there I didn't experience anything until I was much older. The house I lived in with my boyfriend had a ghost car ... or thats what we called it. I also hear one of my deceased dogs now and then flop down on the deck outside. I always know its "Hammer" because the sound he made was so distinctive ! But, I've never been scared or frightened. Unnerved a few times perhaps, but never terrified. I'm sorry that other's experiences so intense that that is how they felt. :(
I've had a few experiences myself , I just don't want to talk about it . They were so terrifying that I've developed Nyctophobia , I don't sleep at night or can't stand in the dark otherwise I start having panic attacks . Last one was past year and I hope that they don't happen again . I even used a pendulum to ask questions and did a tarot reading on myself . They were so bad I thought I was going crazy . It was horrible
aww im sorry that stuff like that happened to you. i wish you all the best in the future.
aww im sorry that stuff like that happened to you. i wish you all the best in the future.
I wish you all the best for you too and hope that whatever more is happening to you stops . I don't wish stuff like this upon anyone , what happened to you is utterly aweful
Yeah, we had up and down times, though that one with the toilet was always there. Stuff always happened but it did seem to have it's seasons. Now that I think back on it I think it followed the sabbats. It got very active mid-year and new years. I'm glad it calmed down for your dog, less stress.
I've heard of doppelgangers. Aren't they supposed to be dangerous? Might wanna get that checked out. That all sounds terrifying. My family has also had some hauntings. Shadows, noises and whatnot. There was one that stole money and I got the blame for it. Ghosts would walk done our hall like it was some pathway in the afterlife. Things were usually fine, but there were scary ones. One cut my sisters face.
At this one house we couldn't use the toilet at night because it felt like they were watching us and waiting while we used it, but the moment we flushed, it felt like thy were chasing us, and not mischievously. Sometimes my siblings and I just gave up and chose wetting our beds over using it. (We were kids,of course) When we did use it, we didn't bother risking our lives taking the time to was our hands (it really felt like our lives were endangered, but i don't know how accurate the instinct was). It took Mum, my siblings and I ages to convince our Dad. Didn't help it usually happened when he was away, seriously.
There was this one that would set off my sisters toy. You know those motion sensor ones that make noise whenever you walk past? Yeah, those. It wouldn't shut up, so she took the batteries out. Not even that worked. It was then evicted from her room.
I never had one of those motion sensory toys (thank God), I think those things would not stop if I had those in the house. Ever since we got the new puppy last year things have calmed down as far as visible occurrences and Lily (the puppy) has only gone to the side door leading to the garage to bark maybe twice.
Do you guys have phases of it being in phases of a flare up then calming down for months and maybe a year and it acts up again? I think right now we are in a down-time and really have not heard a peep other than the normal house creaking and settling into the foundation (it's only a 40 year old house - new for the area I live in).
We haven't heard much of the doppleganger until last night when I heard my name called from the livingroom while my mom was in the back of the house. I had seen her three seconds before going into the front of the house. These things think I'm that dumb...honestly? lmao
