i have too much time on my hands
Why did Claude get more attached to Jennette instead of Athanasia in Lovely Princess even though Athanasia met him earlier? Now first off Claude is an asshat so he treats everyone coldly, but the reason why he never liked athanasia is because whenever he saw her she gave her uncomfortable headaches, not only that, but he never remembered her mother when he saw her, the reason is because he used black magic when Athanasia’s mother died to get rid of his emotions, and the memories of Athanasia’s mother. Athanasia’s mother and claude were in love but because of the black magic he couldn’t remember Athanasia’s mother. Athanasia met claude when she was 7 years old and the black magic spell claude used to get rid of his memories of diana took 4 years so the spell had already been done, so when claude met Athanasia for the first time he just thought she was a dancers daughter. But because of the black magic, it messed with claudes head giving him an uncomfortable feeling whenever seeing Athanasia. Now lets talk about Jennette. Jennette is an artificial human being meaning that she isn’t an actual human. She is made from black magic. Jennettes black magic can manipulate other people’s feelings about her to make them like her, and of course that magic manipulated claude too. Jennette’s magic also gives everyone a calm and warm feeling even though it’s actually killing people, as what happened with claude in the “real end” of lovely princess where we see him in immense pain then dying. Now, what I think is hilarious is that Claude dies 4 years after meeting Jennette, which is the same amount of time the black magic spell took to get rid of the memories of Athanasia’s mother. So Jennette technically casted a black magic spell to kill him without knowing.

I feel like you just answered your own question. Claude got attached to Jeanette because she helped lessen his pain. By the time (in the real ending) when Claude met Athanasia at age 9 he had already forgotten her mother so he felt no attachment to her. Also, the Blackmagic he cast on himself caused him to feel pain whenever around athanasia so he tried to stay away from her as much as he could. I mean I understand how Claude could be an asshole, but it's really not his fault. When people abuse kids at a young age they grow up kind of demented or hella insecure and meek. And the only person who cared for Claude as a child was his older brother, who ends up betraying him. Then after bonding his feelings, he meets a woman who makes him happy. But after getting pregnant, she was supposed to die? His whole life a serious of unfortunate events. I feel like if I was him, I would have used black magic to forget everything as well.
And with Jeanette, you really can't blame her. Sure she isn't a real child, but that isn't her fault. All she ever wanted was love. And a real family. Even in the true ending book, it was said that treated Athanasia like a real sister. And often tried to get Claude to talk with Athanasia so they could all be a family.
You just have to see from other peoples perspectives. The only person at fault in this story is sir. rogers and Clauds older brother. But I'm sure something happened with Claud's older brother, so I don't find him that bad. I even hope he will have a redemption arc.
Well thanks for that. I didn't finish. hardly stated. I'm going back to wait for new chapters that will come out three months from now
