Westworld (HBO Series): Especially, Season 2. They focused too much on philosophizing, being "deep", and the over-the-top pretentious mystery that the payoff is such a let down. It is just complex for the sake of being complex.
The Shining (Movie): Screechy and cheesy. Even Stephen King doesn't like it.
