How to fall asleep
I have techniques that I'd constantly use which will prolly help y'all. If you're one of those people who will feel sleepy and feel like your eyes are heavy but can't sleep a wink at night, try counting backwards starting from 99 to 1 while having slow breathes, inhale and exhale and relax as you do so. When I do that, I'd usually be asleep when I'm at 60's to 40's and I won't even notice it. The next thing i know, it's already morning xD. (If you don't like the counting stuff, just do slow breathing and you'll slowly drift to sleep)
If the 99 countdown still doesn't work, or if you're one of those people who can't sleep with quiet surroundings, listen to calm piano music or idk fine dining restaurant music, since it works on me too and it also sounds relaxing. If it still doesn't work do the 4-7-8 breathing method. This trick is usually used by soldiers who need to sleep on noisy surroundings or who need to sleep in an uncomfortable position or stuff like that. To do this method, exhale completely through your mouth, making a whoosh sound. Close your mouth and inhale quietly through your nose to a mental count of 4. Hold your breath for a count of 7. Exhale completely through your mouth, making a whoosh sound to a count of 8.
If none of those still works, just be bored. Usually when people are bored they become sleepy. Just stare at a ceiling or something and think of nothing. Usually when you think of your worries they would prevent you from sleeping. Just let your anxiety go away and worry about it tomorrow, sounds hard but try to divert your attention. Lastly, don't let your worry about sleeping, stress you out lmao. Don't think about how you can't sleep and stuff. Just relax. Think of something peaceful, something green. Such as forests and clouds. Something like that.
If you're the type who has fcked up sleeping patterns, and would usually sleep when the sun rises, don't sleep at afternoon. Try to hold it. Keep yourself awake and sleep in between 7:30 to 8 pm. It helps.
Oh if you're someone who's drinking vitamins it might have something to do with it. Avoid drinking Iron, Vitamin D, B Vitamins, Calcium and Multivitamins at night. They will keep you awake even when your eyes feel heavy or even if you feel drowsy so don't.
Umm and please please, don't drink alcohol to sleep. It'll fuck your liver up and in some cases, sleeping while you're drunk can cause death. According to the University of Virginia, "Blood alcohol content can continue to rise after a person stops drinking, and the person can choke, slip into a coma, stop breathing or die."
If you're an adult who's allowed to drink, if ever you do drink before sleeping, please make sure to sleep on your side with a pillow behind you to prevent from rolling on your back.
Hope this helped!
