Not the best decision
We were friends for 3 years, I kinda knew how it was gonna end up so I put it out my mind in the "don't even think about it fashion". But after a shitty break up my resolve was no where to be found and I went out with him and surely 4 months later we broke up and our friendship went down the drain.....so yea, moral of the story is don't date your friends..

Depends on the friendship. I'll agree that in most cases the golden rule is don't mess around with friends, classmates, coworkers, roommates, etc. People with whom you want or need to have a friendly relationship with after the (romantic) interlude is over. Most friendships just can't handle that kind of change of intimacy.
I did, however, once have a really good friend, and we managed to pull it off. To one night cross that line, and yet to go back to being the way we had always been without a fuss. Perhaps because, though I found him attractive and adorable, I always knew that he made a lousy boyfriend but an excellent friend. I think he felt the same about me.
Yeah I just can agree with you!!!
I had a very good friend and we were very closed so we finally dated and for some reason we broke up but after that we were still in touch and close. It was really painfull for me because he talked to me about his new girlfriend and I realized I still had feelings for him so I put some distance between us ...And several months later he broke with his girlfriend and we tryed again but for me everything has changed because a lot happened in the meantime for me (I dated other boys and needed to study out of my countrie for a couple of months) I get more mature and confident in myself. Then I realized we weren"t compatible at all !! We broke up ...again but this time I cut all ties with him ...He was my first boyfriend ... I have no regret !!! ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭
