I mean, I don't think it's such a big deal you HAVE to tell them. The only reason I could think for wanting to tell someone is either because you wanna know if you share that common interest with them or if you want yaoi-related gifts/presents (like for your birthday or something). But I don't see why you gotta tell your parents lol.
