Finding a good pace, make sure you give answers the readers are supposed to want to find out past, secret, etc Some stories may end up rushed or dragged out. With this character development to to events that occur, cause trauma or past issues don't poof away...Just my two cents on what to look out for,(btw I love slow pace) Best of luck in your eff......   reply

In the past, I’ve written many stories for sites like Wattpad, but as an art student I want to take my stories to the next level. Because this is more work than a traditional novel, I don’t want to make any mistakes on the plot. Currently, I’m aiming for character development. Some plot lines I’ve written involve Fantasy, crime and mystery, but all centered on a romantic relationship.
Could you share what are some of the greatest aspects of your favorite BLs so far.
I mean, characters or plot development, the art style or the way the story was formatted, the roles of the relationship, how much the engaged in sensual acts, favorite scenes, what annoys you, what you wish you saw more.
Literally anything works!

I can also be contacted on twitter @hobleehobi

I’m looking for proofreaders or general readers who I would review the chapters ahead of time and give me feedback as I go along.

Thank you for any replies!

The vast majority of my characters are LGBT+. I've never really been as interested in heterosexual romance, despite being heterosexual myself. More or less, haha. I'm more asexual than anything, but I find het romance to be very boring and overdone, mostly because of how women are often portrayed. Regardless of the genre, and regardless of who is w......   1 reply

I have been writing BL fictions for several years, which I publish on the internet, just for fun because I like to create characters and stories and it helps me to escape and forget my stress when I'm feeling lower or when I'm bored. To write, you need motivation because it's easy to want to give up, and it's the readers who bring the motivation fi......   reply

Read ressources about writing! I personally write fanfics but my writing is getting better because I follow the advices of well-storied (a blog) religiously haha. And also I listen to writing podcasts it gives lots of pointers. What makes you improve your writing is the art of crafting. And there are tons of ways to make your characters come “ali......   reply

it's really good that you have fun with writing. tbh just do what makes u comfortable. even if u just have a basic outline (they are a pain in the ass to make but they really do help) and bullet points then thats good enough. you should only know basic wants of the character to make them realistic. if they are flat, try basing some characteristics ......   reply

i tried searching how to start writing fiction but almost all of the results were about writing and publishing a first novel. i'm not ready for that yet. i'm not sure if i ever want to get published or just keep it as a hobby and share online when i'm ready. i guess what i'm asking for is tips or how you think i should approach fiction writing. if you're a fiction writer how did you approach it? also i read some articles that said i should have a thorough plot outline and detailed characters before writing and i get how that could be helpful but to me it honestly sounds like work and would take the fun out of writing for me. how i used to write stories as a teen (and before self-doubt crawled its way in) was i'd get a small idea of the story and characters and just start writing. yeah the plot was all over the place and inconsistent, and the characters were flat and inconsistent but i had fun with it. but do i have to have a thorough outline and detailed characters before writing? is that the only way to do it? i did try fleshing one of my characters out but found I had a mental block when it came to questions like what his strengths and weaknesses are, his backstory, his relationships with his friends and family, you know the non-basic questions. idk. i don't want to give up on it again. i just want to play in the shallow end and learn before writing a novel but don't know how to.

I do, and have for the last 8 years or so. I haven't written any trans or nonbinary characters yet, but I have written asexual, bisexual, gay and lesbian characters. I think it's important for any writer to know how to write about different kinds of people. "Write what you know" is a common piece of advice given to new writers, but that doesn't me......   1 reply

I have a friend that - although the topic of sexualities hasn't really been discussed, just based on the way she explains herself, I assume - is heterosexual or at least heteromantic, and she only writes heterosexual characters. Literally, not once have I ever seen her make any sort of LGBT+ character, and we roleplay so even when my characters have had crushes, they're still straight. So it got me wondering -
Heterosexual/romantic authors, artists, etc., do you write queer characters commonly? I don't mean like token characters, the one or two that are gay to meet a quota, but like fully fleshed out queer casts? Being wlw myself, almost all of my characters are queer to some extent so I don't have a very good frame of reference, haha. But I'm really curious!
