OKAY sooo I’ve been seeing a lot of “stop fetishizing yaoi/yuri” and I’m going to explain stuff so the sad souls who are questioning their morality feel at ease. And if I say something wrong please correct me.
I feel like a lot of people start of this rant with the worst case scenario, I remember being so scared of reading yaoi in fear of doing something morally wrong. So I’m just here to hopefully educate you and not excuse the behaviour disgusting homophobic, misogynistic bastards.
First things first, the definition of a fetish, direct copy paste from google:
“a form of sexual desire in which gratification is linked to an abnormal degree to a particular object, item of clothing, part of the body, etc.”
Now, the problem with fetishizing the LGBTQ community, is that you’re objectifying them. The problem is society and history combined. We’ve sworn off romance between same sex people as a sin, something immoral and that also seeps into why the word fetishizing is thrown all over.
It’s okay to absorb literature and works, but how are you using the knowledge in real life is the problem. Are you consuming yaoi, then going out to vote for trump against the LGBTQ community? That’s a problem. Get some help and don’t read yaoi, rethink your life decisions and stop parroting what your parents drilled into your brain and get over your fear of change.
Are you reading yaoi, yuri to explore your sexuality? Welp, I don’t see what’s wrong with that. Go ahead, just take precautions and make sure to check tags, you wouldn’t want to come across something Ramey which is sadly pretty common on here.
And now for the problem with reading messed up yaoi. For things like this, you just gotta see it as it is. Just acknowledge that, yes this seme is raping the uke. Now what are you going to do with this info? Don’t sexualize it, know that it’s not as steamy as the art makes it seem like, understand that women and men get raped in real life and it’s a horrible experience that no one wants to go through and we’ve got to stop condoning to inhuman behaviour.
And that reminds me of something else, activism, it’s a awesome thing, but it’s a double edged sword. You can get activists burnout, and you have to except that fact that you can’t ever stop from bad things like rape and murder to happen in the world. But you CAN help the numbers go down. And that’s the whole point, not to stop bad things from happening completely but to lessen the numbers and make it less normalized (if we could completely stop rape, god that would be great, but realistically it’s not possible.)
Messed up yaoi, yuri, movie, books, there always gonna be here. So instead of swearing them off like some untouchable horrific thing, just educate people that this is wrong, use this as a learning experience. Don’t normalize the content, normalize being curious and learning not to do such things.
Also It’s a problem because of gender roles. Yeah, girls are always beating themselves up to always be proper and “pure” so they’re scared of giving into their humanly desires of jerking off to whatever. And whatever I mean, is two guys, two girls, rough sex, vanilla sex, whatever. And why women are so stuck up about morally right is, men. Because men in the past have structured society as a misogynistic mess. So don’t be scared, read some yaoi, experiment, read whatever. But be a good person in society and don’t become a pedo, rapist, homophobic bigot. Do I have to explain what being an asshole is? Just treat people you want to be treated, and if any of y’all pull the “I want to be treated horribly” excuse, get your edgy ass out of here.

I asked my doctor and he said it’s common in teens to have that kind of thing more often and to just get up slower and stuff.
But it happens me when I bend over or spin around, or even when I’m just standing. I just all of a sudden feel dizzy or my vision gets blurry and speckled.
And, sometimes, when I get up after a second or two I fall over or into a wall because the feeling is so strong. Like, the amount of times I’ve gotten up at school and then fallen into a chair or desk is sad.

My personal favourites are Wolf Children and No.6. I know i know No.6 is shounen ai but i will accept shounen ai as it is pretty light for a vast majority of us.
