Personally I’m not entirely sure If I fetishize gay men in real life, rarely I may be bored in line some where and see a guy with an ideal back or dress nicely and would wonder if he’d make a good seme, uke or reversible. So it’s sort of men in general, we ladies like men. I don’t go to watch actual gay porn sites, I also don’t judge an......   2 reply

The thing is with your question, it generalizes every person that reads yaoi and that is not correct. While I agree that there are fujoshi/fudanshi who read yaoi objectify gay men, there are also people who read yaoi for the enjoyment of the genre and stick to just fangiringl/boying the manga itself. Being of the latter myself, my feelings when I r......   reply

Not all but many unfortunately do. Over the years I've seen multipleeeee comments from Fujoshis where they blatantly fetishize actual gay men. What ticks me off the most is how much the Yaoi industry seems to shun actual gay/bi men. It often exploits m/m relationships while paying no mind to actual gay/bi men. I mean there is always Bara manga whic......   4 reply

I like yaoi because i don't like the way female characters are represented in shoujo. they are always this damsel in distress and that's fucking annyoing. Not to mention the harem. I like romance but i don't like the romance they portray in shoujo. i like the one they portray in yaoi or shonen ai. what bl accomplishes in 6 chapters, shoujo doesn't ......   7 reply

For me, that isn't true. The reason I got into reading yaoi was because I got tired of the standard female characters in manga. I started reading shounen ai first because I wanted to read a not weak protagonist and a good romance plot too. Then after I read a lot of the scanlated shounen ai manga (and there is nothing to read anymore) I started rea......   reply

Eh... that's murky territory. Do women who read erotica/smut with straight relationships objectify other women and the men inside as well? What about lesbians who read and write lesbian romance novels or manga? I'm a gay male and I enjoy yaoi. I don't care that it's written by women or who it's written by for that matter, as long as it's a good s......   2 reply

Objectify? That’s a very strong word, and um, I don’t. I don’t think I like that word. But to be honest I am always surprise when I see gay men in real life (probably cause of my upbringing) but not to the point that it disgust me or use it for sexual release or something. I respect their decision and I admire their courage to be open about......   2 reply

The answer is; don't be a hippocrit. If you object to men enjoying lesbian pornography the yes this is bad too. Really though, we aren't hurting anyone and actualy, in more repressive comunitys (like mine growing up) The only positive interaction I would have with even the idea of homosexuality was through books (more wattpad books than manga as a ......   reply

I like yaoi because the characters are usually mature. There are shoujo where the hero/heroine are mature but it's not common and Josei has mature women but between drama and desperation to attract men, they don't act it.   reply
