The thing is with your question, it generalizes every person that reads yaoi and that is not correct. While I agree that there are fujoshi/fudanshi who read yaoi objectify gay men, there are also people who read yaoi for the enjoyment of the genre and stick to just fangiringl/boying the manga itself. Not all but many unfortunately do. Over the years I've seen multipleeeee comments from Fujoshis where they blatantly fetishize actual gay men. Objectify? That’s a very strong word, and um, I don’t. I don’t think I like that word. But to be honest I am always surprise when I see gay men in real life (probably cause of my upbringing) but not to the point that it disgust me or use it for sexual release or something. The answer is; don't be a hippocrit. If you object to men enjoying lesbian pornography the yes this is bad too. I like yaoi because the characters are usually mature. There are shoujo where the hero/heroine are mature but it's not common and Josei has mature women but between drama and desperation to attract men, they don't act it.   reply
