Boys love content has better well though out stories with better art than most straight ones do, most yuri is portrayed to be way to unrealistic with the mediocre scripting and you might rarely even find something good but yaoi/shounen ai has more attention grabbing plots with good artists. I cannot say why others are "fujoshi". It's just a word, a label... As well as "gay" "lesbian" "bi" etc... I really enjoy reading Boys Love manga perhaps I fetishize ikemen... I have a strong fetish with black haired bottoms in manga, but I prefer reversible couples... I don't know why?... Also, I can't stop it... By the way, I don't hurt anyone.......   reply

You can read and enjoy yaoi without fetishizing, but the term “fujoshi” itself is largely used by those who do fetishize gay couples. If you catch yourself enjoying things like non-con and shipping actual humans in real life and freaking out over how normal men interact with each other, you’re probably fetishizing.
