so on this go me and my friends had this argument and i kinda need opinions (sorry in advance). basically friend a (who is gay) sent these pictures about gay marriage in different countries and gay rights in countries etc, my two other friends b and c gave off i kind of ‘did i ask and idc’ vibe and i replied to one of them with “the fact gay people can be killed for being gay is bad enough”. later friend a said “the ‘straight’” and i said that they’re a different breed (y’know straight tik tok and the i hate my wife memes) the friend b said “that’s kinda heterophobic” and said not to label them as horrible so i introduced them to r/arethestraightsok and i sent posts from them which they proceeded to find funny one of them literally fat shaming women. friend a then brought out the fateful “your hated by half the world” which friend b and c replied with “so half the world is homophobic ok your wrong tho” and i said “enough people to get trump to win president are homophobic” which i probably should have never said cause friend b and c went on a tangent on how trump made america better and how even if he was bad as a person he has his pros meanwhile me and friend a were saying he’s a racist homophobe so he’s still bad no matter what he did and what they couldn’t get in their brain was that they were supporting trump instead of being against homophobes, friend a also said he felt they were being homophobic and friend b’s defense was “i don’t like homophobes”
