As a German (it's 4am here): Make sure that you will get irl classes or some kind of exchange program where you meet people. Germany is notorious for how hard it is to befriend people (we make very little surface level friendships and are a bit cold in the beginning). As someone who lives in Germany. I think life is short and you should enjoy your time!! So definitely yes for the semester abroad idea. When it comes to Germany i think it also depends on the city. Would you be comfortable sharing? If it’s Berlin or Hamburg than immediately yes.   reply

If it’s your dream and you think it’s worth graduating half a year later I say go for it. I’m not German but I had a friend that went studying abroad in Germany and stayed with a host family. You should probably ask reddit but I’d say yolo, if ur classes are online in Germany u can still find other ways to enjoy the experience, tho I have no idea what they have going on for public covid regulations so figure that out and see what ur options would be. I’m sure there would be much more to the experience then just classes and regardles......   reply
