: This would have been so much better if only the MC wasn't a Mary Sue. I have a love-hate realtionship with this because of how the MC is written. Though I don't HATE her, she's just off putting and kind of annoying. That unreachable, not like other girls girl who is good at everything for no explainable reason. Like how tf did she learn the ancient language only 3 people speak? How tf did she learn the language of the dancers? This happened in a span of like 3 months so how could she become trilingual bruh, same with the gun thing, gun fighting shouldn't be "remembered" by her body as *aiming* normally has a role in it, yet I dont think a high schooler in SK should have that much experience, even if OG Raeli did (Which, considering her personnality, she probably didn't). Since she also didn't seem like a great student, as she barely got accepted in a university, it's just so weird to see her magically become a genius at everything. Not only is she perfect at doing everything she wants to do, but she also somehow attracts every single male character in the novel, who are all attracted to her the second they meet her (i guess the grandpa dude would be an exception). And it's so weird how she remembers such minute details of the romance novel she read (since she probably didn't even read it recently, as she was preparing for her college entrance exams). Like who tf remembers stuff like the mine thing or the place where the terrorists are and sh*t like that by reading a novel. And who even writes that crap while writing a romance novel entitled Beatrice. It's like she has the perfect timing for remembering the perfect piece of information. And ofc 90% of the female characters are either in the background so that she doesn't get overshadowed, jealous of her, or complete fools. I also find it so weird how she killed Beatrice so easily, like, without even thinking much, and had 0 reaction. I get that it was "it's her or me" situation, but she clearly seemed shocked when Vivian died, which would be a normal reaction to have, yet 0 reaction when she literaly KILLED someone. Like wtf??? The logical thing would be performing an exocism or locking her up but no, they KILLED her and had nothing on their conscience afterwards?????? And where is the og beatrice anyway? Did she die? And at the end of the story the writer pulls out and asks her if she wants to LEAVE? Imagine if she said "yes" lmao Despite this the story isn't bad, the art is great, and I have to admit that the rest of the characters are okay (the King and Adam have my heart). And the romance part was vers well written, compared to other stories of the genre. Though ML didn't have much of a personnality, he wasn't bad neither.
Although I had many criticisms, this still is MUCH better than most of the other stories of the genre. And the MC being a Mary Sue is something that is very present in many stories. It just really turned what could have been an amazing story to an average one (then a very weird one with the ending lmao).
