Losing your sense of smell doesn't mean that whatever you're smelling won't effect you. It actually makes it MORE dangerous, because you won't be able to tell what's affecting you. I didn't even realize that I had lost my sense of smell because I was dealing with other injuries at the time. I found out because I had a gas leak in my apartment that was so bad, other units could smell it. The only things it effects are your ability to protect yourself and your sense of taste. Because yes, sense of smell is related to sense of taste. It always irritates me when they do a cliche like, "She can't smell/etc so she won't be effected!" No, she'll be effected WORSE because she won't SMELL how much poison she's inhaling. "Oh but it's not poisonous--" The story labeled the moss as "toxic", meaning it's poisonous. So realistically, she just inhaled who knows how much poison and we're supposed to pretend it didn't effect her.
Am I expecting her to die from it? No. But she had no reaction to it, at all? No headache, blurred vision, nausea, nothing? There was such potential here for a small scene of Nox rushing to help her and them both recovering on the way back. There was potential of her pushing thru it and Nox noticing once she's out and then having a sweet moment. There was potential of her having a moment with the Knights, who appreciated that she risked her health to complete what they could not because it would effect her LESS but still effect her. There were ways to do this. It annoys me that she's treated as if "Oh goodie, losing senses was actually helpful" when I know from experience that it's the opposite. Yes, I learned to adapt but my life isn't "better" for having lost a sense. Up until this point, her portrayal of trying to cope with slowly losing her senses resonated with me but that's all gone now. It's just frustrating.
