: I almost... ALMOST misunderstood the mc as a pushover Mary Sue who can't do anything other than acting pitiful to the emperor and receiving his protection... thank heavens I persevered because by chapter 9 I understood that's only a first impression, and she's actually a layered, realistically humanized vulnerable character prone to speaking with emotional frankness, and who that establishes humanized, emotionally frank interactions with other people (and more importantly, with the ML)

: ...I wish they'd normalize friendship. Why does it always have to segue to romantic love? Forgot the title but the MC who owns a stationary store. The legendary hero there has no romantic feelings for her. They're more like siblings! Why can't more authors do that???
