Also the translation at one point is wrong. Duke Carlos IS the mother. SHE is Duke Carlos. They made a huge deal about it earlier in the story that she was the only female Duke and that our girl is inspired by her. The translation seem to suggest that there is a mystery father or that the son is the Duke or that the mother is somehow now a “he” after being “she” all this time in the story.
