The family gets kicked out pretty soon and they set off on a journey to the magic tower. A new character gets introduced, a very rude knight, who is obsessed with the ML. Eventually they become semi friends with the FL.
ML gets his body back semi quickly in terms of story progression. His brother is scum. Even lays his hands on an innocent young girl (18 but probably has a much younger mentality tbh. Girl had heart disease and sheltered all of life. Gets pregnant and died in childbirth. All planned by the brother to manipulate the girls father). Once the ML in back in his body, the og husband is left just a corpse. They travel with the corpse for a while before the FL stages his great demise in a carriage accident that completely disfigures the body excluding the head. Since she never birthed an heir, she regains her maiden name and the widow status is kind of put on the back burner.
FL becomes pretty stereotypical FL in terms of denseness. But whatever. Still a good read if you like this genre.
ML realizes he loves the FL first. I honestly prefer the second ML but I get why the FL choses the ML.
