: so this adaptation is not staying true to the novel from what im seeing people say...samks stories keep getting this treatment, first payback and now this. "toning down/softening" dark stories to appeal to everyone instead of sticking to adapting stories that fit their taste is such a pet peeve of mine. might as well make a whole different story.
