Skylar’s mom is one of my favorite portrayals of a parent. She doesn’t have many scenes, but the author still manages to make her realistic, vulnerable and caring all at once.
Overall the characters in Lost in the Cloud are outstandingly good, probably some of the best I’ve ever seen in this genre.

: I love how this one took a different path from the usual “neglecting parent redemption arc” and instead focused of found family and fraternal love. After loosing his mother a three years old Ray decided he was going to love his little sister endlessly because he understood the importance of cherishing his loved ones while they were beside him. Meanwhile a grown ass adult like the emperor decided to blame his newborn daughter for the dead of her mother and neglected her. That men is inexcusable.
