: As much as I want to be like "oh nice" or "how sweet" the ending left something unfinished. Kael deserved more than that ending, and it felt so rushed. Poor Kael, only saying goodbye to him as he left with way too much composure for someone that lost someone he loved. I expected a Carsen reaction, really; going all demon lord at the thought of losing the MC. Now that's someone ready to destroy the world over losing the one they love. Just showed us that Kael's love was paper thin, he said he loved the MC, but now we see his love could never beat Carsen's level any day. We could see that the MC was going to end up with Carsen, and it was cute that he used the stone to be able to find him.
Also, def saw it coming when the Fate stone was brought up. How the fact he neutralized magic was an even bigger dead ringer for me that he had the Fate Stone within him. When he died, and it showed up, it honestly felt old news. It was a cute idea to have it be closer than expected, but that he had to die to find it, similar to the "fairy tale" where the king died, and the god cried with a tear falling to the mortal plane crystallizing into a stone to change one's fate.
Even that bit with the stone had been sprinkled all over the final season to the point you'd have to be story dumb to not realize it would show up. Yet when it showed up, the story rushed past it.
Not pleased with the rushed story, but still loved it. I still cried in the last few chapters, but glad I waited to binge the season after it was done. I can't wait to see what the short stories contain, but still felt this ending left me with this feeling of lack.
