Then I knew the abuse was coming up so I decided to avoid the novel and let it simmer until the abuse is over. Only to realize they dumbed down the scene as well. I absolutely don’t condone the abuse, but sadly those scenes are pivotal for the next step. The FMC was supposed to be so wrecked and done she just wanted to be done with and this was to shock and devestafe the ml and his parents. But nope.
