: This is just my opinion as I read the novel about Cliff
Cliff here is not that bad. Reasons of his actions is because of Reeze. Reeze is like a drug to Cliff, a little compliment he will feel high... I mean happines. But if he gets a Rehabilitation like taking away Reeze from him. He will gain again his rationality. Like in the ending of this. Reeze will be thrown out and Cliff will be depressed but in the end he married and found peace.
And also Cliff doesn't love Reeze. He is being that way because Reeze is the Author and protagonist and Cliff is her MALE LEAD, he (Cliff) had no choice but to be brainwashed because that is what instilled in his head. Love his fl and give everything to her like any other story.
If you think about who will be affected and be controlled the most by Reeze, it's definitely Cliff.
