Joel is back home, and has worked out that he likes Mara. Thought a misunderstanding would happen that would hurt Mara’s reputation, so distances himself. Mara gets drunk and they get a little touchy. Haven’t addressed that elephant yet. Currently back in Joel’s apartment to “continue the conversation” And Joel takes off the talisman blocking dream demon powers. Mara releases his powers and asks if Joel wants to touch them (the tentacles, the perverted bitch). Mara talks about tying Joel up, Joel asks Mara to eat his dreams. Mara won’t eat dreams due to Joel’s health - it would have negative toll on his body, so Joel is working it. Mara wants to confess to Joel. Ch. 14.2? 14.1? - Super interesting! Essentially Humans Vs Demons, with the humans representing god. The Mc “Elise” showed up at the Church five years ago with no memories and unable to speak. The other mc (fl) is Sian, a half demon, who protected Elise from a low-ranking demon. Elise tries to befriend Sian with baked goods. Emilia, once friend of the church, shows up with the power of a demon. Emilia gets “pure-blood” power and DESTROYS one of the nuns (Annie). Elise tried to stop her, confused why she is suddenly like this, but Emilia says that she has “killed everyone.” God I hope Sian arrives soon/Elise gets powers??

Ch. 42 - deals with heavy topics such as eating disorders and suicide. Ruby reincarnated into the villainess of this novel. In her previous life she was abused and had to take the role of the “perfect daughter”. Reincarnates and hopes for better life - spoiler it’s not. She’s treated the same as her previous life so when she goes to get married by the guy who kills ruby in the book, she’s acts as an oblivious and naive girl.
