The Reader and Protagonist Definitely Have to Be in True Love

I Favor The Villainess
Usagi no Mori
Interesting. Childhood friends get together, even though the love's unrequited. Pushing and prodding from the one with unrequited feelings leads into...something else, pertaining to the other guy---psychological trauma, Oedipus Complex-esque. It's a strange back-and-forth; things progress, but their feelings remain about the same. Feels like we're watching two sides, waiting for the moment where one of them collapses into the other. I liked the side dude. He reminds me of another character, but he's still interesting. --- Notes for myself below. - No sexual urges. First-glance, Problematic asexuality trope => Oedipus Problem(?) => Sex Repression/Repulsion
Erio and the Electric Doll
On CH 11 Nice read.
Double
It’s quite interesting. Very much an emotionally-based story, exploring acting and theater through the lenses of several characters, but namely Yuujin, whose natural affinity for the stage is potent, to the effect of it seeming to consume everything around it. Their lives intermingle in convoluted ways; they feel human in the way they struggle and live. I find it hard to understand at times, at least as a casual reader. Sometimes, I wonder: “Huh, that’s interesting,” not necessarily understanding what it all means. I may be able to get a better insight with rereading, but I wanted to note that, nonetheless, because this isn’t really an easy read. Still, I got a general gist of what’s going on. I’m liking it. It’s got complex, psychologically-bound conflicts amidst the characters, and I’m a big fan of that kind of stuff (also Author’s works in general—her BL stuff is great). Certainly a series that sticks in your head.
Sajou Rihito no Chichi to Sono Buka
Oh my god, I'm a big fan. Found personality clash interesting---representation of "old" and "new" generation, muddled with romantic feelings. Good, felt uncertainty from the blond dude, bold character used to living as gay in society that's moving towards increased right towards homosexual, yet at its current state holds people who remain prejudiced (especially among older generation). His crush on the dad feels emblematic of...something, not sure what. Big fan of older, tired guys in BL + fan of the coworker, too. Both provide their own distinct perspective and I find their personalities interesting.
Can't Think Straight
CH. 63 Goddamn straight guy going after a gay guy. Incredibly entertaining. Love to see a "straight" guy so whipped for another guy. Not sure where things are going in terms of the plot. The dorm situation, the apartment, and then there's the stuff Graham's been surpressing like his past relationships and his relations with his family. Also some things. I'm still curious about YJH's family, especially the extent that they hold power because that's a lot of money. Hope there's not too much relationship drama later on. Find that a lot of manhwa tend to bog things down when there's a lot of it going on.
