Oni to Tengoku Kyuu
Continuation of that one BL where the pair does sexual acts as a way of revealing the old man's psychological trauma. Sequel is surprisingly heartwarming. They've settled down a bit. Seems like there's still some underlying problems, but I haven't seem much of it yet. At this point we're still seeing them in love, which is nice.
Mysterious Encounters In My Neighborhood
Love the concept. MC's adorable. Yokai With Horror Elements is a "hell yes" from me. Chapters have a slight "slice-of-life" kind of vibe. Not much in terms of the overall plot yet, but the author's sewn in the initial seeds; color me intrigued! Can't wait to figure out more about not only the contract but also whatever's going on with the old guy. Only up to Chapter 5 right now. Can't wait for the rest.
Form of Sympathy
ch 67 Manga’s a bitch to the heart! Literally been angst the whole way through but it’s! Just! So! Good! I absolutely love the additional commentary about teaching, depression, and sexuality, to name a few. Author says they’ve done interviews with teachers on teaching life, and it really shows in the work. Since this is BL, of course there’s sex, but there’s also interesting commentary on these different contemporary topics.
Sajou Rihito no Chichi to Sono Buka
Oh my god, I'm a big fan. Found personality clash interesting---representation of "old" and "new" generation, muddled with romantic feelings. Good, felt uncertainty from the blond dude, bold character used to living as gay in society that's moving towards increased right towards homosexual, yet at its current state holds people who remain prejudiced (especially among older generation). His crush on the dad feels emblematic of...something, not sure what. Big fan of older, tired guys in BL + fan of the coworker, too. Both provide their own distinct perspective and I find their personalities interesting.
Mitsuya Sensei no Keikakuteki na Edzuke
While they work together, they also end up in a situation wherein they eat together everytime they meet. The older guy's a chef; the younger dude likes his cooking. Within each chapter is a recipe one can try for themselves, as they watch the two get closer to one other.
The Honest Life of a Game Studio
I remember this one for its artstyle and I believe the weird plot development at the end? Two dudes end up in a video game, they complete the game, and then the ending...which I cannot remember for the life of me.
VR Ojisan no Hatsukoi
Escapism, living for someone else, first and last loves, a relationship that doesn’t fit boundaries. Understanding and cherishing death, making the best out of the little moments left. It’s never too late to live again. It’s not too late to love. Gender identity and sexuality transcended through an online medium. Death is the end, but it also marks a new beginning.
Mobsters in Love
3 volumes total. read 1. Right-hand man has a crush on the boss. It's cute and silly. Mainly shenanigans as he's slowly getting closer to him, but there's the additional wrench of a love triangle. Presumably will be solved in later volumes.
