Pretty funny, unconventional. A different take on goblins courtesy of a resurrected anti-hero. I feel that if it weren't for him, their lifestyle wouldn't be much different from ordinary goblins. They're only better than the other tribes of goblins due to his intelligence, leadership and fair reasoning. Also, he's rather overpowered as are his companions. But otherwise, I couldn't stop reading. I should, I have work to do

I enjoyed the various scenarios the skeleton protagonist had to go through, each led to entirely different paths and outcomes sometimes with tragic consequences. There's always a brief moment of the thrill of power we can feel through him but there is always a bigger and nastier monster waiting to end his journey. While this story is enjoyable and I admit, I couldn't quite put it down, I can't help but feel like the element of death is so overdone that it really is cheap and with each loss, the impact lessens to the point where I can't feel upset anymore over the loss of allies and his supposed friends. I can't be sure if that was intended but it certainly has come to a point where his 'friends' dying means little late into the story. Also, while it is necessary that some things remain unknown to the protagonist and by extension us, I feel he can be extremely stupid at times such as expecting a scenario to be straight forward without considering possible consequences and being thrown for a loop or something as simple as food, being laced with sleeping drugs, in a town filled with suspicious people, which seemed obvious to me at the time. Or perhaps, I just over-think everything and this is fine, who knows. Regardless, it certainly makes for an interesting addition to this fantasy genre and a new look for the often ignored skeleton, the various characters both good and bad are quite interesting, I'm can't lie, while Isaac is insane and evil, he is rather funny and adorable.
