Rereading this, Otonari Complex is a much more serious manga than I remember it being...the rejections, gender norms, crushes and unrequited love...this manga kinda gut punches me in the heart.
Most of all, I feel sad for Akira and the life she lives as a girl who is misgendered as a man all the time and how it's lead to her thinking that she can't be cute or enjoy romance or even be loved...its just fucked up to see how much she's suffering.
Makoto is a homie and I feel bad for him too, like how will he be able to reach out to her when she's suffering so much in the pain?
Really good food for thought. A manga that represents people who are different to gender norms and who get misgendered
