obnoxious conflictless trash but not sure what i expected

pretty good for basic romfan. i mean, it's not even romance, it's a sweet male male female friend group. edit: the artstyle change in the second season killed this for me, sorry.

i can't believe i've been handed a story about the traumas of a 49yo woman and then get to watch as she gets more and more fearsome and cool and hot... and she has a young female love interest!! (see chapter 101). i love creepy nonbinary kamio's adventures with her daughter as well.

this is different enough that it's enjoyable

i like the strategizing that goes into every fight and mission, and the contrast emphasized between the demon cult and the other cultivators. i hate the way the series treats women.
