Curtain's up, I'm off
Theater acting in a high school setting. I liked the themes of youth, friendship, yada, yada. it just felt a little cliché and generic. the characters aren’t particularly unique, and they’re lacking. practically only three characters are memorable. aside from the acting aspect, you could treat this like any other shounen manga. wow, they’re selected to go to nationals in the end…. yipee ig? had promise, but the execution ultimately underwhelmed me.
Butai ni Sake!
The only problem is that this is too short. How could the author make such a hunk of a man, but only use him for like 20 chapters??? *cough* Irami. This author has like two other long running works, but this potential masterpiece gets the short end of the stick for some reason. *cough* Sasaki to Miyano. Also, I just couldn’t get into all of the characters, especially the side ones. It kind of felt like your typical coming of age story? One thing the story nailed was the portrayal of the MC’s anxiety. It was very realistic and relatable. The writing altogether is so masterful, and most of the characters are multifaceted and have their own struggles. However, I wanted Oniwa and Irami’s relationship to be expanded upon a bit more!! That aside, this was an above average acting manga.
