Road to Stardom
I finally gave this a try after a cycle of dropping and picking this up again. The beginning is a bit of a drag, which is why. Anyway, it does get better. I enjoy seeing the MC's "growth" and OPness as an actor/all round entertainer. It's relatively engaging despite his generic character. Later on, the female characters aren't that irritating like Sebin for example, though she's a typical tsundere. They actually have a sense of self. The works the MC participates in are interesting as well. His growth doesn't exactly make the most sense, but his powers make him cooler.
This Life Starts as a Child Actor
Pretty interesting! I assume most of the story will take place with the MC being a young child, so it’ll be interesting to see how the author handles his dealings in showbiz. It is over the top,, though… I hope they time skip him to be even a little older than five years old. Anyway, the MC has struggles, so even with his camera ability, he isn’t too overpowered. Decent acting manhwa that satisfies.
Superstar From Age 0
I like that it's a lot more fast paced than the novel! Very engaging, and the MC's character is hard not to like in that he's two-dimensional… He wasn't just good. He's also had past lives where he was the "bad guy." I love the slice of life vibes and how he incorporates his past life abilities into his acting. This has everything I looking for in an acting manhwa. Great art. The no romance (so far) is an added bonus.
Weapon Maker
The MC is so much like Kim Dokja that it isn't even funny. He's brainy, which is refreshing. He has to hide his strength and blah blah blah. I like how we have a deuteragonist (Yoon Taeheon). All of their abilities are really cool, and the art amplifies the effects. They look kinda lifeless, but it's part of the charm I think. The MC is really OP, but it's also interesting how he can function as a support as if he were in a game, he'd be rated SSS+ tier, not purely because of his offensive abilities but those and his support abilities combined. Think Kuroko. This is still at the beginning stages, but I think the characters have a good base for being good characters. Only about three characters have defined personalities rn though. The world building isn't anything mind-blowing as of yet, but it will probably come down to the execution.
The Iron-Blooded Necromancer Has Returned
Help, I love this. This is a classic revenge story, but the action is just too good. The fight scenes are epic with the MC just summoning more and more of his legion. The brutality is excellently expressed. Blood and decapitation galore…. Makes for a satisfying read in which you cannot help but root for the MC. I also like the character designs, especially regarding the MC’s subordinates. The art is kind of lacking, but the plot/action makes up for that. Right now, the MC’s just killing pretty much everyone related to his brother, but I hope to see form at least some new connections.
I Became a Genius Salesman
Fairly interesting! This is the first time I’ve read about an MC who’s a “genius salesman.” Romance subplot warning. His ability to read minds seems pretty nuanced. He doesn’t abuse his power in a way that harms others. It’s also satisfying seeing the MC crack down on corruption.
Delivery Man From Murim
I read this on another site, so the reading might feel janky here. Honestly, this is mid, but it's not trash! I've been reading so much trash lately that this is a such a pleasant read. It's a "good series with slice of life, and it heals your mental health" to quote another reader. There's nothing that really hinders the reading experience, save for the hiding-your-power trope. I especially like the MC and his unique experience/perspective on the world. I just wish he'd kept his long hair…
The Edgeless Sword From the Village
this is so interesting! for one, i love the protagonist. he’s got a wife and kid and practices martial arts. it’s a semi-more realistic take on the genre, which the art reflects. i really want to see more of the mc’s journey.
