Rebirth of the Villainess: The Life of Letizia after the Engagement Annulment

Ongoing | UZUKI Mitsubi, TOMIZUKI Ichino | 2000 released

Review: First thoughts: Plot lowkey kind of reminds me of “Doctor Elise,” but we’ll see how this differs. Update: I like it so far. I haven’t read enough of it to properly judge it, but I think it’s decent. The male lead is fine, and the story overall is okay. Side note: Caught up to chapter 15.

Dr. Choi Tae-Soo

Ongoing | CHO Seok-ho, Kim Han-seok, Lim Seong-wook (Akeo Studio) | 2019 released

There's a lot I have to complain about this manhwa, but there's also a lot I have to praise. Firstly, the art. The art is incredibly inconsistent from season to season. Thing of note is: it improves. Generally. It's not as if the art quality prevents one from reading. I warmed up to each style as the story enraptured me. First season: Tae-soo is a bit weak-willed, but he finds his resolve in saving patients where he can help them to the best of his ability. Second season: Tae-soo grows as both a doctor and a person. He's more confident and brisk. Third season: Tae-soo returns to the hospital he left as a renewed doctor and takes little fledglings under his wing. Has a mullet (important). He's almost more brooding now lmao. I do enjoy how they as doctors do not pursue perfection. They merely desire to save their patients. Doesn't matter what race you are, what political standing you possess— a doctor's job is to aid after all. That modicum of growth that within the panels makes reading so worth it! It actually becomes so much more palpable as the story progresses. Tae-soo is an incredibly dynamic and interesting character. My favorite medical comic as of now. You get your medical jargon as WELL as the art showcasing how the surgeries are actually performed, which is really cool. Plus, we have a trio! Tae-soo, Minsu, and Hyukkwon, hehe. You have your classic medical politics/drama, but I like how it's a teensy bit more realistic (though this does have a fair amount of 2D characters specifically designed for conflict/the suppressing of the MC). Fav part has to be ch 183 hehe. Art is the best in season 4

Perfect Surgeon

Ongoing | | 2019 released

MC steels himself and returns to… doctoring? An AI helps him. It's nice how he isn't literally reincarnated but is instead granted a new life through the AI in his brain. You again have the MC being oppressed by his superiors. I personally think this has a lot of potential, albeit it being a slower paced manhwa. Things will probably get more interesting in the upcoming chapters. I also don't believe there exists a "perfect doctor," but we'll see how this plays out. It's interesting how he's slowly becoming more integrated with Ronnie. Update: What the hell was that ending? It felt pretty rushed. All that build up for the main antagonist to be taken down in like a single chapter. I'm just upset like there weren't more surgeries depicted? Like he's the "perfect" surgeon and all... It was more drama and unnecessary office politics. His abilities weren't explained well either. Still, this was a decent read if you're looking for medical manhwa.

Doctor Resignation

Ongoing | | 2019 released

This is fairly good! I love the doctor-y elements. This doesn’t feel cliché at all, and I like that the leads have their own personalities. The FL is pragmatic, and “realistic,” befitting of her mental age while the ML is a bit extreme and obsessive due to his lack of education. I like the art and the storyline. Just makes you want to cheer for Rita and her “found family.”

Itoshi no My Doctor!

Complete | Glycerin takeru | 2019 released

It was really cute! Short and sweet. I didn’t expect the doctor to have that side to him in bed lmao. Wish it were a bit long, so there was more time to develop their relationship.
