This Life Starts as a Child Actor
Pretty interesting! I assume most of the story will take place with the MC being a young child, so it’ll be interesting to see how the author handles his dealings in showbiz. It is over the top,, though… I hope they time skip him to be even a little older than five years old. Anyway, the MC has struggles, so even with his camera ability, he isn’t too overpowered. Decent acting manhwa that satisfies.
Superstar From Age 0
I like that it's a lot more fast paced than the novel! Very engaging, and the MC's character is hard not to like in that he's two-dimensional… He wasn't just good. He's also had past lives where he was the "bad guy." I love the slice of life vibes and how he incorporates his past life abilities into his acting. This has everything I looking for in an acting manhwa. Great art. The no romance (so far) is an added bonus.
Love Stage!!
I think this was a decent read. Relatively fluffy, light, and entertaining. Will always like the acting trope. The gags were part of this manga’s charm, but as always with older BL, there was the overused SA as a plot device. Some parts just feel nonsensical and obnoxiously dramatic. If this had come out today, I might not’ve read it ‘cause the execution is so lacking. Still, I enjoyed this with its silly characters. Glad the main couple (and even the side coupe) got their happy ending. This did do more than what I expected on the emotional/philosophical side (i.e. Ryouma questioning what it meant to “date a man”). Appreciated that Izumu got to top Ryouma despite being the typical “uke.” Perhaps a step in the right direction for its time but nothing mind-blowing.
Life, Once Again!
42 rly if ur looking for an acting manhwa! i also like how this feels a bit philosophical in a way. novel is also very gud
After the Curtain Call
This was so good, but so short. The FL is an actor who works in theater. The MC is her fan (and photographer). Had a really heartwarming and fluffy story, but it does feel like some things weren't properly addressed, which is quite common in this genre. Still, I liked this. It was quite sweet, and I of course love the acting trope. I only wish they had smacked Hyesun in the face.... (with their relationship).
The Genius Actor’s Aura
I’ve read the novel, and it’s relatively good. This adaptation has done really well, and I like the art. Interesting storyline. I ofc love the main character’s acting. It’s refreshing how he doesn’t act in dramas but in theater.
Curtain's up, I'm off
Theater acting in a high school setting. I liked the themes of youth, friendship, yada, yada. it just felt a little cliché and generic. the characters aren’t particularly unique, and they’re lacking. practically only three characters are memorable. aside from the acting aspect, you could treat this like any other shounen manga. wow, they’re selected to go to nationals in the end…. yipee ig? had promise, but the execution ultimately underwhelmed me.
Ashita No Ousama
Excellent manga! Even though the MC isn’t an actress herself, this still manages to be very moving. As a scriptwriter/director, she has her own struggles. It was very enjoyable and also inspiring to see her overcome those struggles and achieve success. Her character was refreshing bc of her honesty and passion. Her character development is no joke. I liked the emphasis on the entertainment industry and theater, and I didn’t mind that the romance subplot took the backseat. The acting was portrayed very well, too (by the art)! Characters Touya and Fujinosuke left impressions on me. Overall, a satisfying read, but I agree that it was a little anticlimactic with not much conflict.
This isn't it
35 this is surprisingly better than what i expected. i like that the mc didn’t lose herself to revenge. sihyeon’s past like reminds you that there are always two sides to a story. i want to root for woobin, but the thing they said about love being about timing kind of proves he’s the second ML. i like seeing sihyeon act and the darkness of showbiz be revealed. plus, the art is really good
