Jazz for two

Complete | Clarju | 2000 released

This is hands down one of the most beautiful manhwa I’ve read. “I want to forever be your autumn leaves” “play me” - these words break me. They remind me of the last scenes of the manhwa and it sends me on a crying spiral every time. I truly admire how intricately the author weaves the story, revealing bits and pieces, making connections here and there to finally allow us to see the bigger picture. The art is absolutely beautiful and a delight for the eyes. Tragic, melancholic, hopeful and evocative: the story and plot are superb. The brilliant touch of adding jazz songs and connecting it with the piano and themes of the chapters is genius too. One thing that I can’t get over is how we hear autumn leaves on the first chapters and how at the end of the story, we realize how much meaning the song holds. How it connects all the dots. This is a must read for everyone who loves manga. I hope to one day see the anime for this.

Good day to go crazy

Complete | yusa | 2000 released

What an engrossing, enjoyable and memorable story! As I said before I’m a sucker for cosmic themed art and this manhwa does it justice. Easu especially is beautifully done. Love the Beautiful art! Easu is the definition of a survivor who’s braved everything and made it to the top. My heart breaks for him and the agony he had gone through. I weep for the love he could’ve had. I weep for the countless horrors and obstacles he’s had to face. Nobody deserves a monster mother like that. The bitch got what she deserves in the end. I think it’s incredible how the author has depicted the impact of trauma and abandonment issues and the desperate need for love and affection in easu. He isn’t afraid to love and bare his ugly sides to hosu. He’s petty, bratty, insufferable, gorgeous, generous in his love and affection. Very multifaceted And I loved his character so much. It’s not typical at all. I loved the psychological takes to the story and how the plot unfolded. Lived for the angst, heartbreak and all the hopes for a better situation. The dialogue and narration is also superb, enabling us to enjoy the wild ride to the max. Hosu for his part is also a fantastic character. I honestly can’t get enough of his tsundere sassiness and comedy gold. He’s someone who’s trapped by his past and trauma too. However the compassion and love he shows to his family despite everything shows much about him. He also takes care of easu and makes him come alive with his wild sass, hidden love and affection. I do understand why he had to break up with easu and I think that was a brilliant plot move. I cried for them so much. It was really well done how hosu overcame everything and realized he wants easu more than anything. I like how they made it work and got back together in a non typical way. I’m so happy hosu got some closure with his mother too. Little brother woo and dohyuk are also pretty nice characters. That dialogue between woo and easu about how they should latch onto the one they love, be needy and shamelessly demand affection. That really hit the feels. These precious souls have been hurt so much. All that aside, the smut was unexpected and it was so good! I love how this manhwa doesn’t portray them as having massive dicks or unrealistic body types. Very satisfying indeed! That like at the end “ it’s a good day to go crazy for you. A good day to love” it will definitely stay with me.

My Starry Sky

Complete | Star Candy Planet | 2000 released

First of all, the art style is incredible. I’m a sucker for cosmic themed stuff and this style is exquisite I’d say. The story is so very deep and complex, only shedding light on the whole picture as we peel it layer by layer. The dialogues are also extremely well written, conveying strong concepts and conversations. I absolutely adore the fact that we get to see things from two different perspectives. It goes on to show how much miscommunication, abuse, power differences and love can create so much change. This story gives you completion and satisfaction in almost every chapter. Just when you think you’ve understood the whole picture, there’s yet another perspective shift. Yeonduck is truly a marvelous creation. There’s so much love and resilience in that beautiful soul. There’s an unwavering determination and desire to do better and be a light of hope in all the darkness. His ever present kindness is something that truly deserves celebration. To be that kind in face of such cruelty... it’s amazing. Skyler is also an incredibly complex character who appears to be a brat at first but then we get to see just how much of a lost soul he is underneath all the trauma, hurt and misunderstandings. My heart broke for him so much. Nobody should have had to go through that kind of cruelty and pain. The fact that he survived all this and is able to come to term with his feelings, pursue his happiness and seize the good moments for himself, it says tremendous things about his character. Once the misunderstandings are gone, his love truly does shine. The happy ending they both deserves is so hard won I think it will stay with me forever. I’d say it’s definitely one of my all time fav BLs and I only feel sad for the fact that we won’t have more of this wonderful universe
