Mahou No Kagami Ni Sasayaite
It was good. I really like the quote "Coffee should be black as night, hot as hell, and sweet as falling in love." (I think that's how it was said anyway I don't like cream in mine either so it's a good quote for me.) anyway. The story itself was really good in some parts and decent in others. I would re-read it. I like most harlequins and this one is not a exception to that rule. I'd say If you like josei romance then it's worth the few short chapters to read it definitely.
Yuru Koi
I liked the longer first story and the last one which is actually a continuation of another manga that I have read. I guess the first story was my favorite of the bunch though the one about the guy who ran a pottery business and the girl who is super passive for the most part. Ive read the first part of this many times. On other sites I think it only gives you the first of the stories not the others... unless I just quit after seeing the one after started like it was going to be a romance between a highschool girl and her teacher. Since school life is not my thing.
Kindan no Koi wo Shiyou
I liked these stories better than the other longer story about hisako and her wolf. I think these ones are just the right length. Honestly I started the longer story but stopped because it really didn't make me want to read more. This one is good though.
Ai no Koe
Love Scar
Okay... this one was definitely not one I would be interested in reading again. All the characters bothered me quite a bit. The art was not horrible nor was it really good. The story was written well for what it was but it was not my type of story. When I searched romance/josei it popped up but I wouldn't really call it a romance... I mean... maybe it could be considered a twisted romance if it stopped at the extreme love between an adult and teenage boy, but after it progresses, I'm not sure if twisted romance could really be right after that. There should be a extremely messed up people genre. This would fit nicely. The woman main character in this story was the absolute worst. I could not stand her. She was horrible. At the beginning she was in love with a guy who she introduced to her friend and then passively encouraged her friend when they hit it off. When her friend took her advice she disliked it because she was sopposed to apparently read into her words somehow and realize she meant the opposite... That was one point against her. After that it was a downward spiral for her. I couldn't stand her at all. Then the Teenage boy. I felt a bit bad for him originally. If anyone in this manga is forgivable it would be him. Some people may disagree with me but that boy really picked the worst possible person to fall for. Plus he was young and couldn't control his emotions he had issues with having the correct amount of distance... something that occasionally is the case in young men but more often than not is actually the woman who doesn't seem to control her emotions. The mother was a complete idiot and self serving bitch, the main character woman was the same type... which is understandable since they say guys tend to go after women who are like their mothers. The other main character guy who was not the teenage boy started courting the idiot main character woman when she fled to another country without knowing about what was between her and his younger brother... what exactly are the chances of that? Anyway, so she had already agreed to marry the older brother and the younger brother was a complete mess after she fled the country. He went through stages of dealing with things. The woman never truely thinking about anyone elses feelings or pain but her own. The older brother loved her and treated her well even though she could only seem to ever think about the teen boy. I felt sorry for the older brother at that point too and would have thought he was the most deserving of happiness and a good life if he did not hit her. I could understand his desperation but once you hit the bitch you stop being the pitiable victim because you sunk to her level. The ones I only felt real sadness for or hoped for their happiness in the story was the woman who liked the teenage boy who worked with him. She deserved to have a good life after all of the stuff she went through and the teenage boy who suffered at the hands of his mother and the woman he fell for. He did some horrible things too. However, he never let someone become serious about him and was never dishonest about his intentions toward other women when he messed around. I would have hoped that when he went to america to learn IT stuff that he stayed there and never saw the woman again. I am sorry for the ranting I know some of this is spoilerish but I have been intentionally vauge. If you decide to read this just keep in mind you will have to be much more tolerant of stupidity and horrible people than me. I disliked it because of the characters and what they did. However, I can say that although I disliked the story. It was well written for what it was. The art was not so great as I said but perhaps I just don't like that style of art. I have other major complaints about the characters and the way they went about things but if I go into those I will spoil too much of the story. So I'll just let my rant end here. For me, 2 stars rating was generous. The reason I gave it 2 stars instead of the lowest I could give it was because of the writing talent of the author. Though I abhor the characters and story itself I do think it was written well.
Yoru Cafe
I really liked this one a lot. It is one of my favorite longer straight romances (not a oneshot or harlequin). I have read it a few times before and will probably read it again in the future. If I had any complaints it would be about how the girl was so stupid. There is a limit to being naive before it becomes just stupidity. Though I did like her originally and at the end too it was only when she let that guy with the glasses manipulate her like that that it bothered me. Anyway, great story great characters good art. All around a really worth while romance.
