Diamond Life
This manga really has to be my favorite straight romance manga. It deals with a lot of heavy issues such as HIV and Poverty but manages to write a seriously awe inspiring story around these themes and still at times comes off lighthearted. I don't think there is a single person I would not suggest to read this Manga. I tend to be someone who always has at least some small issue with a manga even if it is one that I love. I tend to be especially hard on women leads simply because I have room to talk as a woman myself. However, this manga is one of the few exceptions to the rule. I have nothing bad to say about the manga or it's characters... The father of the main woman was a piece of work but that in it of itself was a great side part of the story and I wouldn't wish it changed either. All in all this manga is a must read. I have read it many times and will read it in the future again as well.
Green Blood
I found this manga to be extremely well drawn and written. I loved every bit of it. Its actually funny to me how good a western written in Manga form could be. It's also the only one I have ever read so I'm pretty sure it is a not a common Genre for manga. The main characters are very interesting. It also has a lot of american history in there that seems pretty accurate too. The art is some of the best I have ever seen. I like the style imencely. Although different styles I would actually have it tying with Berserk in terms of Art. Anyway, I have read it a few times and will read it again I am sure. This manga has dark and some mature themes so I would not suggest it to children other than that though It is a good read and I would suggest it to anyone who is a action manga fan
Hana to Akuma
I have only read this manga one time. However, it left a lasting impact. I don't think I will read it again. It was a slow moving manga. However, I still think it is worth 5 stars. Its quite the heartfelt story.
Kedakaki Yakusoku
I really enjoyed this harlequin and I kinda want to find the book so I can read it whole. I like Catherine. Actually her personality is quite a bit like mine. I tend to dislike being told what to do. Good thing I live in this day and age and not back then.
Kiss to Karada
I had read the first one before somewhere. However, I did like the second one. I have read so many josei romance and I had though I had read all the ones I would like already previously save the brand new ones that are just pubished guess I can still find some good one though if I look : )
Ai no Koe
Love Scar
Okay... this one was definitely not one I would be interested in reading again. All the characters bothered me quite a bit. The art was not horrible nor was it really good. The story was written well for what it was but it was not my type of story. When I searched romance/josei it popped up but I wouldn't really call it a romance... I mean... maybe it could be considered a twisted romance if it stopped at the extreme love between an adult and teenage boy, but after it progresses, I'm not sure if twisted romance could really be right after that. There should be a extremely messed up people genre. This would fit nicely. The woman main character in this story was the absolute worst. I could not stand her. She was horrible. At the beginning she was in love with a guy who she introduced to her friend and then passively encouraged her friend when they hit it off. When her friend took her advice she disliked it because she was sopposed to apparently read into her words somehow and realize she meant the opposite... That was one point against her. After that it was a downward spiral for her. I couldn't stand her at all. Then the Teenage boy. I felt a bit bad for him originally. If anyone in this manga is forgivable it would be him. Some people may disagree with me but that boy really picked the worst possible person to fall for. Plus he was young and couldn't control his emotions he had issues with having the correct amount of distance... something that occasionally is the case in young men but more often than not is actually the woman who doesn't seem to control her emotions. The mother was a complete idiot and self serving bitch, the main character woman was the same type... which is understandable since they say guys tend to go after women who are like their mothers. The other main character guy who was not the teenage boy started courting the idiot main character woman when she fled to another country without knowing about what was between her and his younger brother... what exactly are the chances of that? Anyway, so she had already agreed to marry the older brother and the younger brother was a complete mess after she fled the country. He went through stages of dealing with things. The woman never truely thinking about anyone elses feelings or pain but her own. The older brother loved her and treated her well even though she could only seem to ever think about the teen boy. I felt sorry for the older brother at that point too and would have thought he was the most deserving of happiness and a good life if he did not hit her. I could understand his desperation but once you hit the bitch you stop being the pitiable victim because you sunk to her level. The ones I only felt real sadness for or hoped for their happiness in the story was the woman who liked the teenage boy who worked with him. She deserved to have a good life after all of the stuff she went through and the teenage boy who suffered at the hands of his mother and the woman he fell for. He did some horrible things too. However, he never let someone become serious about him and was never dishonest about his intentions toward other women when he messed around. I would have hoped that when he went to america to learn IT stuff that he stayed there and never saw the woman again. I am sorry for the ranting I know some of this is spoilerish but I have been intentionally vauge. If you decide to read this just keep in mind you will have to be much more tolerant of stupidity and horrible people than me. I disliked it because of the characters and what they did. However, I can say that although I disliked the story. It was well written for what it was. The art was not so great as I said but perhaps I just don't like that style of art. I have other major complaints about the characters and the way they went about things but if I go into those I will spoil too much of the story. So I'll just let my rant end here. For me, 2 stars rating was generous. The reason I gave it 2 stars instead of the lowest I could give it was because of the writing talent of the author. Though I abhor the characters and story itself I do think it was written well.
