Yuureitou

Complete | Nogizaka Tarou | 2000 released

tw for sexual abuse, pedophilia kind and incest themes towards the end of the series but it really draws you in and it has a happy ending for queer characters. I liked some of the writing but as others have pointed out, the climax/ending goes into weird autogynephile type themes for a villain which isn't great, and tetsuo's transness is almost fetishised by the narrative sometimes. other than that he's a well written trans character

Adekan

Ongoing | Nao Tsukiji | 2007 released

the only good part is the art. the storyline is overly edgy and written to be provocative. the plot at the beginning was solid but deteriorated as Anri became more and more relevant. extremely disturbing taste in fanservice, and there is gratuitous fanservice and queerbaiting present. all of the worst BL tropes but with no actual relationship. Clearly written for basic fujoshis. fetishisation and dehumanisation of sex workers and the sex industry as a whole - including a lot of child sexual exploitation and again! super graphic and pointless sexual assault scenes/sexual abuse. i have dark tastes, and i like psychological and historical series. but returning to this series from when i dropped it in 2015, it is 100% worse than I remember because back then I was a kid who thought that this was somehow great plot pacing/character writing lmaoooo. what a waste of beautiful art and a great premise
