To a New Life
Really great. Not exactly original but done very well. The dragon power was interesting and not really overused in these types of stories ( I can only recall it in one other story with my dragon eye baby “The returners magic should be special”). The side characters have completely developed characteristics and the side relationships seem so realistic to me. Low key I am fangirling over the secret relationship between the Saint and the nun. The fact that they can’t claim their son as their own is heart breaking. And the Saint can’t just leave the church because of his divinity and ties to the goddess of light as a embodiment of her power. They can’t get married or display their love but they are devoted to each other. You can see glimpses of their relationship in the MC memories before the time leap to the past and when the Saint was killed by the main character because the Saint was being controlled by the demon sect ( with the skill hive in which you make others ingest a worm that takes control over their body and mind). The nun the Saints lover asked to be killed with him because her son ( their child ) and the man she loved is dead and then said that he was her life and her life was now gone. The loyalty and devotion was something you don’t usually see in these stories because they usually revolve around cheap relationships stemming from lust and charisma rather than the husband-wife dynamics. I know I talked about these two characters a lot but they are definitely more minor characters than anything else but it wasn’t just them. Even the minor characters had complex stories, relationships, and ambitions. Weirdly I know more about the random side character’s than about the main character. Boy is a cyclone of mystery. His sidekick, the Saint, The Demons, some random powerful twins, the merchant lady, the mage, the knight, etc. I have gotten thorough background knowledge on all of these characters that I will likely never see again but… The Information on the MC is quite little. He was a slave in his early twenties which is what he was until chapter 36. Before that he was an adventurer. His family? Why he became an adventurer? Why he became a slave? Who the women he keeps seeing in his flashbacks? His lover? How did he get powerful to begin with? How did he meet is now sidekick in his past/future life? The questions are endless. But I am sure all will be revealed with time.
History Of Three States
Really love this. I was a bit thrown by the art seeing as I am used to authors and artists depicting their characters as needlessly good looking, clean shaven, and un-marked (no scars). I found myself thinking in the beginning that these guys are a bit ugly but now I think that they all look cool and their looks are growing on me. The MC Lu Bo begins as a leader of a small (few hundred) band of soldiers that fights for his lord. He is a regressor (someone that dies and goes back in time to an earlier period of their life) that after being betrayed and murdered returned to be a better man (someone who gives his all for those that he cares about and for the betterment of everyone - his personality has undergone major reform and he has more sense and isn’t as quick to rage), husband (his wife in the past / his future died because of him so he promises to protect her which we will talk about later), and most importantly leader to his soldiers and to his people (before he regressed his soldiers often lost their lives because of his recklessness and went hungry because he spent all of their money earned in war on women and alcohol so it’s kinda no wonder he was betrayed but I promise he wasn’t all that bad even in the first time line he stopped all that stupid shit pretty early on but the damage to his relationships and reputation was already done). Lots of great and entertaining things have happened this far. He has poached a lot and I mean A LOT of undiscovered talented people that where not discovered until some time in the future. He also coincidentally found his future wife as a young child and saved her one time from being sold as a slave. He shortly after finds that she had sold herself to pay for her fathers funeral and then when he hears word that the man who she thought bought her in good will to help him take care of his estate as a servant was actually planning on giving her over to be raped by an offical who wanted to sleep with underage girls of all the 13 providence’s of ancient China (which she is like 10 right now so that is fucked up). Lu Bo then kills the other servants of the estate and rescues her promising to take care of her his whole life. It’s kinda funny because she calls him brother now and kinda treats him like he is her older brother and he treasures her like a younger sister at least for now because she is so young. It’s also so cute because all of the soldiers at the military base where she and Lu Bo live treat her like a princess and listen to everything that she says. I’m making it sound all cute and fluffy but like 95% of the story is spent in war fighting and killing, training to fight or kill, or taking about fighting and killing. It’s definitely really cool. My favorite part is when he is collecting and recruiting soldiers /warriors who will become very influential in the future and when he finds undiscovered talents. Every few chapters it seems he’s found another powerful ally to in turn make himself stronger and who will live and die at his word. A lot of them were actually enemies before his regression and I think that’s really strong of him to do (take them in as his own people considering they played a hand in his downfall and death). In an inner monologue that he addressed this saying something along the lines of he would never kill his enemies early and that it would be cowardly of him to meet them anywhere but the battlefield. If he has to go out of his way to kill them early all it would prove is that he doesn’t think himself strong enough and capable enough to beat them at the height of their power. This is a prime example of how he thinks about everything. To his core his is a honorable and prideful man in both this life and his previous life. He may not have always made the best decisions before his regression but he always had his own code of morals and honor to live by. But with a few of the people he has recruited he actually avoided recruiting them because of them being his past enemy but because his reputation continues to rise compared to the past with all his now good deeds his past enemies are seeking him out wanting to be his subordinates. All they really wanted was to serve someone just and good for them and the people they care about. I can’t help but think that these people are happier serving him as their lord compared to the past whenever Lu Bo thinks back to how their personalities are different from that time (pre-regression). Basically this story is amazing and I can’t wait to read more. It’s funny I was just reading some other peoples comments and I wasn’t the only person who thought they were kinda ugly . It’s just a bit weird they all have big doe eyes like a baby’s but such gruff looking faces it’s a weird not very good looking combination but I have adapted better than I thought because I already find some of them hot … some have a face only a mother could love though.
Second life of a Gangster
Gangster that died at the age of 41 was able to go back to when he was in high school and undid a lot of the wrongs that he committed as well as apologize to the people he hurt. Saved some people got involved in lotta gangfights ended up taking down 1 to 3 organizations. Got revenge for the death of one of his friends. Redeemed a lot of people many who chose to go down a similar path that he went down. He showed them that there was a better way. And when they didn’t listen to him with words and taunt you showed him with his fist . Had quite a few female, groupies and away, but I will say this they were all amazing women. And I can’t usually say that. But I kid you not all of the five women that I can think of off the top my head were genuinely good people to the core. Even the former delinquent girl Was still a good person. All in all I really wish that the ending didn’t come so fast. And that we could see more of his life progress because it started out with him in the second year of high school there was a lot of in fighting gang violence, near death experience saving route, miscellaneous people and ended with him in his third year of high school . We never got to see the continuation of his life. It’s somewhat interesting to think about what he would’ve continue to do in the future, but more than anything I like to see the progression of life.
