Mayday mayday mayday!
Honestly I what such low expectations for this one and the beginning made me feel like I was right. The second half of the story was worth reading tho. Vasily is definitely a bad guy (to the limit of psychopathy actually), therefore I waited to elaborate a judgment about his relationship with Yoon, but in the end I weirdly came up to like both Vasily and the relationship between him and the MC. I also began to find some moments kinda cute. Vasily’s short-tempered attitude honestly cracked me up LMAO, let’s consider for example the scene in which he wanted to chop off Yoon’s cousin’s dick or the fact that he ALWAYS pull out the gun Because of him I have been rolling on the floor for the whole afternoon. Regarding Yoon, he had a “slutty” past, but he’s not the slutty kind of uke, moreover the portrayal of his emotions (like fear and anxiety) and of his personal growth and emotional evolution was pretty good.

The length of the main story feels perfect but it leaves so many things untold!! For example we have basically no informations about the origin and the nature of the relationship between Hua Rong’s assistant and Cheung’s brow haired friend. At the same time I would have liked a whole side story about Hong and his band member, Jiwoo: a simple love story concerning showbiz and past traumas but with no rape and mafia. I liked the gory details that were present in the story in both a physical and psychological manner and it made it so the reader could’ve never blamed the victim (uke) and his decisions and desires afterwards. I loved Lu Hao and Mao’s relationship btw... mutual love with conflicting feelings and circumstances. Overall very heart wrenching and dramatic. I would have liked to see the reunion between the two brothers since their “side” plot doesn’t feel wholly fulfilled.

If it wasn’t for some inconsistencies in the whole thriller part of the plot, I probably would’ve rated this manhwa higher, since the dynamics between the two MCs were just SO GOOD AND AMUSING. Kang Heon and Duwon the reporter were obviously just devices to mislead us, since whenever the barman appeared he had this very creepy aura around him that made his culpability pretty obvious. Even the MCs suspected him a couple of times but ignored their right assumptions thinking they were only being paranoid. Moreover I was expecting some surprising plot twist regarding the reason that had led the culprit to the whole stalking, threading and kidnapping matter but he ended up saying he had done all that “just because”, which gave the character and all the plot created around him too much inconsistency. I also would’ve liked to read more about Kang Heon and Duwon (I would have welcomed with my arms open the development of a love story between them...). The MCs characterisation kinda filled up for the rest: Taekyung is the the speciman of the perfect boyfriend (protective, confident, decisive, HOT!!!), while Jaehwa is the one of the most relatable, salty and badass uke I’ve read about so far. At first I thought he would have been the slutty kind of uke but he ended up being everything but that!! His tsundere personality won my heart over in a minute, and can we please talk about drunk Jaehwa? Or when he’s teased by Taekyung? So cute
Hetakuso Love Step
Yoshino is the cutest and funniest manwhore ever (ToT). He’s kind of a nymphomaniac but I really liked the brief excursus about his teen trauma. Kotarou’s gap moe really is a thing tho, his appearance without glasses left me speechless too, but his cuteness when held by Yoshino was too adorable to handle he looks like a puppy please protect him, he gives me INTP vibes~ The extra are so domestic too aaaah lovely!!
