WHY THE RUSHED ENDING, IT HAD DEVELOPED SOOO GOOD SO FAR☹️ The quote “it was as if he had so much love for the honoured lady he didn’t know what to do with it all” hit me HARD. I equally loved both the Emperor and Suyeong, good plot overall <3 But the Emperor damnnn sO WHIPPEDDD MANNNN
Scent of a Witch
I still don’t know if my vote is just and fair or too low for such a particular story. The author managed to escape commonplaces and stereotypes crafting an original story. It was a little bit confusing tho, some scenes were chained to one another through association of ideas, while other links seemed to be completely unrelated. The plot is clear though, but I would have liked some important development on the crowned prince and his physician’s side and on noah himself. Talking about Noah enneagram he’s probably a 6w7, seeking security and fucking around to avoid pain, using his nature as a witch as an excuse to mask his feelings. Even his low self esteem to be born a male is probably an excuse he uses to keep running away in the belief he doesn’t deserve anyone’s love, but he still desires someone to love him unconditionally. And this is where Ryan enters the picture: what about their first encounter? The same scene was shown through all the possible angles and povs but the author didn’t give us the whole picture. Of course the scheme of their meeting is pretty clear: Ryan gets lost, he meets the witches, since he’s a kid they spare him, he gets to know Noah but almost forgets about him since he also forgot about the other witches thanks to a potion. I felt like the whole encounter was labelled as something happening due to “fate”, just like the kid witch’s prophecy about them dying in the castle, which also felt like an irrelevant element used only to make the reader anxious. Overall, amazing plot and characters with not so good development and organising.

This is exactly my cup of tea: good plot, historical and exotic settings, myths, action, romance. *Chef’s kiss*
