Very nice story. It had a certain amount of redemption for both MCs. Even with the "forgiveness" toward his father, I still would have published all the recordings and sent the sheriff and judge to jail, along with Daddy Dearest. Crooked people in taxpayer paid positions of power deserve twice the sentence that normal schmoes would get for doing the crime. Rich entitled scum that use their power and crooked means to destroy people should be in jail, no matter what their boo hoo health problems. Also, since the ML is a Senator, for him not to uphold the law would make him a total hypocrite and lawbreaker (as though that's something new for a politician!).

I got about half way through and decided that this rates as one of the worst Harlequins I've come across. The ML is filth, pure and simple. I'm reasonably certain that his boo hoo childhood is going to come to light and make it perfectly all right for him to seduce, rape, and mentally torture a young woman that he originally seduced when she was barely out of childhood and treated like a cross between a slave and a blow-up sex doll. He is basically everything I hate when found in my own gender. The only happy ending would be him dying in want and pain.

What a selection of total creeps. ML is all lovey dovey at the end, but he did rape her on the boat. I'm sure he'd deny it, but that type ("she knows she wants it") always does deny it. Poor sap also can't decide if he loves her or hates her. A life with him would be hell for any woman with more ambition than to be a blow up sex doll.

FL was victimized by everyone in her life except for the ML's daughter, who was the only person other than the FL worth a damn in the story.
